Thanks to everyone who showed up and showed out at Venture Black’s Soul Food Brunch Pitch for Seattle Tech Week. We enjoyed the southern fixin’s from Mama G’s Kitchen & Boon Boona coffee for brunch at the Wonder of Women Int’l Gallery at Pacific Place and were honored to have renouned artist and gallery director Hiawatha D attending in person and Madrona Ventures content crew in the house capturing the event. We had exciting debut pitches from Abinnet Ainalem and Selam A. at Efficover and emeritus Seahawks Lofa Tatupu and Kerry Carter at Gritfactor AI as well as hot and fast pitches from Gerome Seeney Madd Kitchen Inc., AR B. at Gametime Hero, Chuks Onwuneme at Identities AI, and David Gory Jr, M.S., MBA. at Airbuild Inc as well as Montana H. at rYOUminate delivering the crowd-voted best and most socially impactful pitch of the event. The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County is proud to announce that 50 small businesses and nonprofits across King County have been selected to receive the Workforce Accelerator Grant of up to $6,500 each. These grants will support employee training and expand employment opportunities
