How do we invest in ourselves this year?

How do we invest in ourselves this year?

Hello, thoughtful people! I hope you had a lovely weekend.

This post brings:

  • info on how upskilling accelerates career growth
  • news about our first event of the year (?!)
  • a reflection to start your week off strong.

Our latest post: Upskilling for Career Growth

The title says it all. For those of us with New Year's Resolutions to get more income, a promotion, or work-life balance, honing in on the parts of those outcomes in our control helps us keep our sanity. Choosing to make ourselves more skilled as a way to protect against restructuring, lay-offs, or delays in finding a new job is one of the things that are very much in our control.

Our post helps suss out the types of skills that will keep your resume attractive no matter the job market and create a plan to communicate your added contributions with these skills in hand to folks at your company (or future company) with ease.

How can upskilling charge our career growth?
“Work hard” isn’t broken, you just need skills that actually move the needle. Here’s how we can upskill in ways that lead to real options. 📈✨

Kicking off 2026 with a Workshop: Budgeting

As we mentioned in our 2026 goals post (relinked below), we want to bring workshops directly to our communities this year. Don't get us wrong, working with schools and employers is wonderful, and it does not allow us to be as easily accessible as offering direct sign-ups to our events. So in 2026, we're doing things differently. And how better to recover from holiday debt than to do a workshop on budgeting?

We have a lovely workshop description below, so we won't steal the thunder. But if you ever wanted to learn what may be informing how and why you spend, this is for you. Sure, there is a lot of material out there on how to budget. There is not a lot of material helping you understand your relationship with money so you can budget better. Tickets on sale now!
